Our Projects

The New Year's Ladies' Brunch is held on any given Saturday in January. We invite the Ladies from First United Methodist Church of Grandview and encourage our members to bring guests and enjoy a potluck brunch with a guest speaker, door prizes and gifts. Good food and fellowship are had by all. 

Communion is held the first Sunday of every month. Watts Chapel's Communion Table is open to all who believe. 

Intercessory Prayer Group meets every Sunday morning at 9am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome.

The Blessing Box sits on the altar every Sunday. Anyone who has had a special blessing can come to the altar, explain the blessing and place their offering in the Blessing Box. 

Children's Church is available every Sunday immediately after the offering or communion. 

Adult Bible Study begins after services each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall.  Everyone is welcomed. 

Every Thursday the Watts Chapel Quilters meet and invite anyone who wants to quilt or learn how to quilt to come between 9 & 9:30am.  At noon, we pause to have prayer, lunch and fellowship. The quilters resume after lunch until 2pm. 

A montly newsletter entitled, "WATTS WHAT" is emailed or mailed out the first of the month with a schedule of events and news of the congregation. Please see our "News and Events" page for our monthly schedule. 

The Second Sunday of every month Change for Children is collected during the offering. The children use this offering for their mission work at the end of the year. In 2016, they donated enough money to outfit an entire village in Africa with farm animals and clean drinking water. 

The Methodist Men's Breakfast is held at 8:30am the second Saturday of every month. The venue changes from time to time but good food and good fellowship always begin around the breakfast table. 

Our Third Sunday Potluck Breakfast Service begins at 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone enjoys tasting new breakfast casseroles and swapping recipes. 

The last Sunday of March is designated as "Bring a Friend to Church Sunday". Each person is asked to bring a friend who might not have a home church to Watts Chapel for fellowship and worship. 

During the Lenten Season Watts Chapel combines some services with First United Methodist Church of Grandview sharing the responsibilities of the services for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Please see our News & Events page for our schedule of events. 

Easter Sunrise Service starts at 7am with a potluck breakfast to follow. Regular worship services are at 9:30am and an Easter Egg Hunt follows immediately after the regular service. 

During the summer we have a Communitywide Vacation Bible School that begins with a nutritious meal. There are Adult Mission Trips as well as a Youth Mission Trip and Glen Lake Church Camps available. 

Annual Homecoming is the first Sunday of August. In 2017, we celebrated our 70th Homecoming and our 125th year of continuous worship in our Sanctuary. It was a VERY SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICE.

"Back to Church Sunday" is September 17, 2017. Our theme this year is "A Place to Belong". Watts Chapel is a place to belong as you are always made welcome. This is the time when all of our church members and constiuents are given the opportunity to update their contact and membership information and return to Watts Chapel to worship on a regular basis. 

The Lord's Acre is held on the Third Saturday of October every year. in 2017, we will hold our 22nd Lord's Acre with a Sweet Shop, Trash & Treasures Tent, BBQ brisket lunch and live auction. A portion of the proceeds are given to several local charities. 

The Thanksgiving and Christmas Season at Watts Chapel are always special. The decorations are always splendid and there's always special music. The culmination is our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Please come and enjoy our Watts Chapel Special Kind of Love.
